The Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters went out to Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley but since I was late, I couldn't find anyone (How was I to know that you had to follow the road that said "PRIVATE ROAD!"?? ) so I painted this cool gatepost with the matilja poppies and the Santa Lucia Mountains in the background. Sometimes bad luck is good luck! (not such good luck with the photo, however. grr)8x10
